Welcome to the Web Site of  Iolanda Scripca
There is always a beginning:

I was only four years old when my nanny brought me back home after hours of playing in the old Cismigiu Park in Bucharest, Romania. Mom met me at the door, took my raincoat off and checked its pockets for pebbles and other souvenirs I used to bring home from the park. This time, though, it was different. She took out a withered leaf, a leaf in a shape of a heart as big as my both little hands put together. I startled and told my Mom that the leaf was the letter from the Wind I had expected all my life ( all four years of it.)...

I grew up in a household full of poetry, paintings and music, with evenings where artists shared their new creations almost every other weekend.

I remember my Mom collecting my tossed little poems scribbled on pieces of napkins and rewriting them on a real note book which I still have with me today. ( I was only six years old ).

I am a graduate of Foreign Languages and Literatures from the University of Bucharest, Romania. I love the eternal purity of Childhood and that's why I pursued a teaching career in California. The little girls in the picture used to be my darling students.

My writings come to me from deep inside, an Abyss that carries the "Lava of my Soul"

So, sit down, put your winged caps on and dive into my world.
